We support the future of oceans in NB.

Exploring the Depths, Driving Innovation, Sustaining Our Blue Future

New Brunswick has a strong foundation and growth potential in the ocean economy. The province is home to colleges, universities, and world-class public and private research organizations dedicated to advancing marine science and sustainable ocean management. Research priorities focus on aquaculture, oceanography, and fisheries sustainability, with a strong emphasis on coastal and marine ecosystems. AI tools are increasingly used to manage complex datasets, while advanced manufacturing techniques drive ocean sector growth. Ports play a crucial role in deploying new technologies and connecting New Brunswick to global markets.

Collaboration among academic institutions, public agencies, and industry supports applied research that promotes marine conservation and sustainable ocean resource use. Funding from grants, government, and industry strengthens coastal economies, enhances sustainability, and protects marine biodiversity.
