Research in Action Sponsorship

Overview:

As part of ResearchNB’s commitment to advancing research impact the Research in Action Sponsorship supports individuals in organizing activities that showcase and mobilize research within ResearchNB’s priority sectors. 

The purpose of these activities should be to cultivate an environment that advances knowledge within the research community, facilitates the application of that knowledge beyond academia, and fosters the development of future projects. Activities should engage participants from outside of academia, including partners, community organizations, government, industry, and the general public. 

Eligibility

  • Applicants may be from academic or research institutions, community organizations, indigenous communities, associations, or student groups. 
  • Applicants must be responsible for organizing the event. 
  • Events must take place in New Brunswick. 
  • Applications must be received no later than three (3) months before the date of the event and the event must take place within 12 months of the start date on the notice of decision. Events that have already taken place are not eligible to receive sponsorship. 
  • Applicants must confirm they are seeking committed investment from other sponsors. ResearchNB will only sponsor up to 30% of an event’s total cost.  

Eligible activities include: 

  • Activities that showcase research or involve knowledge sharing, including Indigenous sharing circles. 
  • Activities that support end-of-project or integrated knowledge mobilization. 
  • Activities that are part of a series or a one-time event. 
  • Activities that are face-to-face or virtual events. For virtual events, requests must be well justified.

*Please note that once the budget is exhausted for the fiscal year, the program will be closed.

Application Process:

Applications for this sponsorship are only accepted through the ResearchNB application portal and are evaluated against the evaluation criteria for this sponsorship. 

Applications are reviewed on a monthly basis at the end of each month.

Reporting:

A final status report is due one month after the final event. These reports are to be completed via the application portal.
