Danick Martin, a PhD student with Dr. Gilles Robichaud in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, is the recipient of a graduate scholarship from the Cancer Research Training Program of the Beatrice Hunter Cancer Research Institute.

This is Danick’s second CRTP award and will provide him with a stipend of $37,500 for the next two years while he completes his
doctorate. His doctoral thesis entitled ” Functional Characterization of Pax-5 circular RNA in B Lymphocytes Malignancies “.

“I am learning a lot about different possibilities of careers open to us throughout the CRTP. Through various CRTP events, I also get to meet new people that will take different paths in their careers. This has enabled me to develop a network of contacts and possibly a potential door for my future endeavours,” says Danick.

To date, the Beatrice Hunter Cancer Research Institute has awarded over $ 300,000 in stipend support to eight Université de Moncton graduates and postdoctoral fellows. Through the Cancer Research Training Program, trainees have access to a program designed to expose them to all aspects of cancer research.

Mr. Martin’s studentship is provided by funds from GIVETOLIVE and the New Brunswick Health Research Foundation.
