From Hospitals to Coastlines: New Brunswick Investing in Solutions for Communities and Industry Through Research
From improving hospital patient flow to strengthening coastal infrastructure and advancing agricultural robotics, New Brunswick researchers are developing solutions to challenges facing communities, businesses, and industries across the province.
Fredericton, N.B., May 11, 2026
Today, ResearchNB announced $1.5 million in funding to seven research projects across energy, oceans, agriculture, and health — four of the province’s priority sectors. These projects reflect the growing role of research and innovation in supporting economic growth, strengthening key industries, and improving quality of life for New Brunswickers.
"Supporting research is an investment in New Brunswick’s future,” said Post-Secondary Education and Training Minister Jean-Claude D’Amours. “These projects demonstrate how innovation can strengthen our economy, support communities, and help position our province as a leader in emerging sectors."
